Intricate images entwine in a colorful archetypal background and yet,
my paintings tell personal stories. They are little parts of me,
translations of my senses, intimations of my experiences and dreams.
My works are worlds that emerge from all things
beautiful, sad, humorous, living, dead and everything in between.
When I'm in my studio with my small brushes in hand,
I poke holes in the tubes when the paint doesn't come out
fast enough. Gradually I slow down, meticulousness takes over
and with each tiny dot I place upon the canvas, time starts to dissolve.
This timeless place gives me the ability to invent
and see familiar sights with new eyes. My artwork mixes
gouache, acrylic paint, mediums, gold leaf, collage and digital media.

I was born in Iran, a dutch girl in a Middle eastern landscape.
When I was four my family and I returned to Holland where I
grew up in a small village on the outskirts of Amsterdam.
I moved to Northern California in 1985.
Although I have studied with many art teachers over the years,
I consider myself mostly self-taught. My works are owned by
private collectors in both The Netherlands and the United States.
